La National Football League (NFL) reportó que el primer día del Draft que se realizó el jueves pasado alcanzó una audiencia de 13.6 millones de espectadores, cifra superior a las 12.2 millones de vistas que alcanzaron las finales de la National Basketball Association (NBA) en el 2024.

Estos 13.6 millones de espectadores, alcanzados a través de ESPN, NFLN, ABC, ESPN Deportes y canales digitales, representaron un aumento del 11 % en comparación con la primera ronda del Draft de la NFL 2024 que registró 12.4 millones y el segundo día uno más visto en la historia, sólo detrás de los 15.5 millones que se alcanzaron en la presentación del Draft del 2020.

De manera presencial el Draft, que se realizó en la explanada del Lambeu Field, hogar de los Packers, ubicado en Green Bay, Wisconsin, convocó a 205.000 aficionados en su primer día, cifra inferior a los 275.000 seguidores que asistieron al día uno del Draft de 2024 en Detroit.

La asistencia de 205.000 aficionados es sorprendente porque la población total de Green Bay es de poco más de 100.000 personas.

La liga deportiva más importante de EEUU

La edición número 90 del Draft, que se realiza desde 1936, confirmó a la NFL como la liga con mayor poder de convocatoria en Estados Unidos.

A nivel internacional la NFL tuvo presencia en distintas ciudades del mundo para anunciar varias selecciones.

Los enlaces se realizaron desde Madrid, España; Monterrey, Hermosillo y Ciudad de México, en México; Río de Janeiro, Brasil; Berlín, Colonia y Düsseldorf en Alemania; París, Francia; Dublín, Irlanda; y Melbourne, Australia.

En el Draft 2025 de la NFL, que arrancó el jueves y concluyó el sábado, se seleccionaron 257 jugadores en siete rondas.
