Empresas Polar y sus marcas, desde hace más de 84 años, apoyan el desarrollo de jóvenes deportistas del país y contribuyen con este tipo de formación para quienes buscan alcanzar su más alto potencial y aspiran impartir justicia de manera profesional, como los árbitros de béisbol, contribuyendo a mejorar su preparación.

Carlos Martínez, gerente de Mercadeo Deportivo de Empresas Polar, resaltó que a través de este campamento se brinda apoyo al deporte en su fase de desarrollo y contribuimos a cumplir con los sueños y el crecimiento como profesionales de quienes aspiran a llegar algún día a ser umpires de Grandes Ligas.

“En Empresas Polar siempre hemos impulsado el béisbol en todas sus facetas, desde Criollitos hasta la Serie del Caribe, y por supuesto los árbitros forman parte fundamental de este deporte, por lo que siempre vamos a colaborar con estas iniciativas”, expresó.

Patrocinando a los árbitros de la Liga Venezolana de Béisbol

El destacado ejecutivo del marketing deportivo subrayó que, paralelamente a esta formación Empresas Polar patrocina a los árbitros de la Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional, LVBP, y la Confederación de Béisbol Profesional del Caribe, CBPC.

“Fundaprobe, así como el Centro de Desarrollo Deportivo Empresas Polar en San Joaquín, han sido sedes del Venezuelan Umpire Camp desde su primera edición, ofreciendo excelentes instalaciones, para el buen desempeño de estas prácticas”, agregó.

Por su parte, Miguel Hernández, director general de la Academia Venezuela Umpire Camp, resaltó que gracias al apoyo y la confianza de Empresas Polar al creer en la juventud y en el béisbol, la edición 41 de la Venezuelan Umpire Camp se realizó con total éxito.

Inspiración, constancia y disciplina para materializar logros

“Contar con estas instalaciones nos permite desarrollar con éxito estas formaciones con las que inspiramos a los participantes que quieran llegar a las Grandes Ligas, porque con constancia y disciplina pueden lograrlo”, añadió Hernández.

En estos campamentos se han formado más de 800 aspirantes a árbitros, 11 de ellos son umpires venezolanos que ya forman parte del sistema organizado por la MLB, convirtiéndose en la máxima cifra de una nacionalidad distinta a la estadounidense.

17 días de aprendizaje y afinamiento profesional

El grupo de 28 participantes de esta edición incluyó a dos mujeres, un colombiano y tres venezolanos que viven en España y vinieron al país a prepararse en el Venezuelan Umpire Camp.

Durante 17 días recibieron formación teórica y práctica, en lo que respecta al conocimiento e interpretación de las reglas de arbitraje, cómo es el sistema de dos árbitros y su desplazamiento en el campo para llamar y sentenciar cada jugada.

La Fundación para la Promoción del Béisbol de Empresas Polar (Fundaprobe), en sus campos ubicados en Tronconero, municipio Guacara del estado Carabobo, fueron la sede del Campamento de Formación de Árbitros de la Venezuelan Umpire Camp, en su edición 41

La formación de los participantes estuvo a cargo de los destacados árbitros venezolanos Carlos Leal, Reynero Valero, Jesús Santiago, Juan Gómez, Emmanuel Pérez, Jorge Terán, Raúl Moreno, Noel Báez, así como del experimentado Henry León “Moñoño” y el grandeliga Jonathan Parra.

Luego de este campamento base, los aspirantes a árbitros que quieran continuar con su preparación pasan a un sistema de clasificación en el que evalúan su conocimiento del idioma inglés, su capacidad física, su discernimiento de las reglas y su desplazamiento dentro del terreno de juego.
