La Torre Eiffel se vistió con los aros olímpicos que, a 50 días del arranque de los Juegos de París 2024, van a dar una iluminación particular al que es el principal atractivo de la ciudad.

La estructura, presentada por el presidente del Comité Organizador de París 2024 (COJO), Tony Estanguet, la alcaldesa de París, Anne Hidalgo, y la ministra francesa de Deporte, Amélie Oudéa Castéra, está situada entre el primer y segundo piso del lado sur de la Torre Eiffel.

En un comunicado, Estanguet señaló que estos anillos han sido bautizados como los «Spectaculars» y que difícilmente se podía hacer algo más espectacular que colocarlos en la Torre Eiffel.

«La Torre Eiffel es París, es Francia. Queríamos crear una imagen que todos pudieran recordar», añadió.

Con más de 100.000 luces LED, estos aros que miden 29 metros de largo por 13 metros de alto representan los cinco continentes e iluminarán París las próximas semanas.

Durante el día, mostrarán los colores olímpicos (azul, amarillo, negro, verde y rojo) y por la noche tendrán luces blancas blanca para una mejor visibilidad, explicó esta semana el COJO.

El icónico símbolo se ha constituido por el ensamblaje de piezas que pesan en total treinta toneladas.

Los Juegos se celebrarán del 26 de julio al 11 de agosto y las medallas que se repartirán a los deportistas llevan incrustadas piezas hexagonales de hierro extraídas de vigas cambiadas durante las renovaciones de la famosa Torre Eiffel, la construcción más alta de París, con 330 metros.
