Michael Carrera lideró la victoria de los Diablos Rojos de México, del entrenador argentino Nicolás Casalánguida, (94-90) sobre los Dorados de Chihuahua, para lograr su pase a las semifinales.

El jugador venezolano anotó 20 puntos y tuvo ocho rebotes. Por los Diablos también sobresalió el argentino Santiago Scala, quien despachó 19 unidades, con seis triples convertidos en siete intentos.

Demetrius Conger cargó con el ataque de los Dorados en el primer cuarto, en el que convirtió 15 puntos, nueve de ellos por triples, para guiar a Chihuahua a ganar 27-25 el primer cuarto del partido.

El México ajustó su defensa en la segunda manga, en la que limitó a sus rivales a solo 14 puntos y a un porcentaje de tiros del 21 por ciento, para, con un cuarto de 13 puntos de Santiago Scala, llegar al descanso 56-41 arriba.

Scala continuó con su buen momento en el tercer período, en el que encestó dos tiros de larga distancia más y, apoyado por seis puntos del estadounidense Michael Smith, condujo a los Diablos a llegar 75-69 arriba al cuarto final.

En los 10 minutos finales, Michael Carrera asumió el mando de la ofensiva de los visitantes, con siete puntos, para sentenciar 94-90 el triunfo de los de Casalánguida, que enfrentarán en las semifinales a los Soles de Mexicali, que eliminaron a los Astros de Jalisco.

En otro partido, el campeón Fuerza Regia del entrenador español Pablo García venció (70-56) a Cancún y empató 2-2 la serie de los cuartos de final.
